HURIGHTS OSAKA ACTIVITIES

Human Rights Education in Asian Schools, the newest publication of HURIGHTS OSAKA, inspired by the Bangkok regional meeting on human rights education in September 1997, is a collection of the papers presented there as well as additional material highlighting the achievements, needs, problems and challenges of human rights education in the Asian context. The topics included range from specific experiences to more universal theory. HURIGHTS OSAKA believes that because schools are the most pervasive institution in any Asian country, effective human rights education is the key to developing a society in which preserving fundamental human rights is both a high personal and institutional priority.
