The September 2018 (Volume 93) issue of the FOCUS Asia-Pacific newsletter has been printed. Copies have been sent to human rights organizations and institutions in Asia-Pacific and beyond. The whole file of the newsletter as well as individual files of the articles are now available online (https://www.hurights.or.jp/archives/focus/).
The September 2018 issue of the newsletter focuses on how LGBT people are affected by the discrimination and even violence they suffer due to their sexual orientation and identity. Also discussed is the complication brought by the disability of some LGBT people.
Articles relating the LGBT issue to children, non-governmental organization staff and people with disabilities (alongside an article on administrative and legal measures in Japan) are included in the September 2018 issue of the newsletter.
One final article is on a regional training program held annually in Korea that has considered the new political developments in the Korean peninsula and discussed Global Citizenship Education (GCED) and human rights.
